Happy Hounds Crochet Along - What will you need?

Updated: Nov 3, 2020

I'm so excited for this crochet along and I'd love for you to join me!

I came up with the idea for this blanket because I was fed up of always seeing pictures of black and white border collies on everything!

"beware the border collie" sign - doesn't look like mine!

"I love border collies" bag - doesn't look like mine!

There are never any tri-coloured border collies like my dog Alfie!

So I decided to create a crochet graph of him, I might not be able to get a silly sign, but I can certainly make a blanket with his face on! And that is where it spiralled...

Every fortnight I will release the graphs for a breed, there will be 10 breeds in total. For each breed, I have created a handful of graphs of different colour variations. Some weeks there will be 3 graphs, other weeks there will be 4! It just depends on how many cool colours I could find for that dog breed!

I will be making one panel for each breed, and I will be crocheting mine in the mini corner to corner stitch, and I will be using Stylecraft Special DK. The amount of yarn you will require for your blanket depends on the colours of the dogs you choose and how many squares you do.

Click here complete list of yarns I will be using, and the number of squares for each of each yarn needed for every colour of each of the 10 breeds!

I will be using Stylecraft special double knit in bluebell and pale rose for my background colours and the layout will be as below:

I can't wait to fill in those squares with adorable puppy dogs!

This list will be updated with links as the crochet along happens
